The reason why the Democrats want to hurry to remove Trump from office before the inauguration

For four entire years the Democratic Party of the United States has been fervently trying to come up with any excuse, any crime to pin on Trump, in order to try to impeach him and remove him from office. They don't really care which, as long as Trump is removed. (Which, technically speaking, makes it sedition.)

In December of 2019 they finally got around to try it, and they impeached Trump. Of course "impeachment" merely means that the House of Representatives has decided to take the President to be tried in congress, not that he has been found guilty. The charges against Trump were so extraordinarily flimsy and ridiculous that not only did every single Republican senator vote to acquit, but even one Democrat senator dared to do so as well (earning my respect for daring to go against the hive mind).

Rather obviously the Democrats weren't happy about that.

As of writing this the inauguration of the next President, and thus Trump's term ending, is happening in three days. One would think that the Democrats would finally just let go and wait the three days left. But no, they have absolutely rushed to impeach him again, and are trying their hardest to successfully find him guilty and remove him from office this time.

At face value this makes no sense: The inauguration is just a few days from now. What difference would it make to remove him from office just a couple of days prior to that?

They actually don't care if they succeed in removing him a week, a day, or an hour before his term officially ends. Even if they could officially find him guilty and officially remove him from office one minute before his term ends, they would have achieved their goal.

And what goal is this? Why are they doing this?

Because they want it noted in the history books that Trump was found guilty of a crime while in office, and thus removed from office. It's all about the narrative. They want an official historical record that they can point to every time they want to use President Trump as their excuse for whatever totalitarian policy or argument they are making. They want Trump to become a president that was a criminal who was removed from office. In other words, they want a political weapon against the Republicans and Trump supporters for the foreseeable future.

Naturally in the future, when they use this event as an excuse and justification, they will be completely silent about the details and circumstances. Trump will simply become the president who committed a crime and was removed from office, no more details needed. The fact that he was removed at the last minute by a completely seditious kangaroo court for this exact purpose, for the exact purpose of having this kind of political ammunition, will conveniently be left out.

That's why they are in such a hurry. They want to be the victors who write the history books, and they want this event to be officially recorded there, for later use.
