Less police! No, more police!

For something like four years now masked domestic terrorists have regularly marched the streets of many cities in the United States, making noise, disrupting traffic, harassing people, assaulting people, committing acts of violence, destroying property, even burning down buildings, and this behavior has only escalated and escalated over the years, up to the point of causing literally billions of dollars in property damage and something like a hundred deaths, with the terrorists doing this in one city every single night for over two months straight.

Not only were the politicians on one side of the aisle awfully quiet about this, but in fact some of them actually supported this. A few of them joined the terrorists on the streets. This was quite a clear act of insurrection and sedition.

The other side of the aisle wasn't a whole lot better. Some of them whined a bit, but pretty much nothing was done about it.

For many months the far left, including some of those politicians, has been demanding less and less police. To defund the police. To reduce the police forces. In the most extreme cases to eradicate the police forces completely. These demands were not only made by some fringe lunatics, but in fact some politicians in power were making these demands as well.

And all this even though, for the most part, the American police forces have been inactive in the face of all this violence and terrorism to the point of insurrection. In many cases the police officers have merely watched while clear egregious crimes have been committed in their direct view, without intervening or doing anything about it. Willfully and deliberately staying out of it, just watching it happen.

Curious how the tune has changed now after the one Capitol riot, and the change in president.

Curious how the politicians now want the exact opposite of what they wanted before: Now they want more police officers. Now they want stern measures taken against "domestic terrorism". Now they want to increase police surveillance and form special police forces to deal with these "domestic terrorists".

Curious how now they are blaming the police for inaction and not doing enough to stop a riot from happening. For four years they were completely silent about police inaction, and only now are they taking notice.

Curious how the inauguration of the president this time looked like a military takeover, with literally tens of thousands of soldiers manning the capital city. Demanded by the exact same politicians who opposed Federal law enforcement from intervening in the domestic terrorism just a mere months prior.

But that's how it works. It was possibly completely serendipitous, or only very slightly and fuzzily planned, but the end result is the same: They succeeded in making the far left accept the country probably becoming more of a police state, with increased surveillance and lessened rights, with increased government power over people.

In retrospect, it was ingenious: First demand less police, and when everything goes to shit, suddenly having more police, even more than before, becomes strangely palatable and accepted.

As a side benefit it also supports the political narrative: The problems caused by police inaction can be blamed on the president that was in office at the time, ie. Trump, while the "solution" to the problem can be attributed to the next president.

Curious how perfect the timing was. Probably completely serendipitous, but anyway.

Unlike they predicted, Trump did not create a totalitarian police state. Biden/Harris may well do. And ironically, the far-left, including the leftist mainstream media, will cheer rather than oppose it. They will hail it as a triumph and victory, while their rights and privacy are being eroded and taken away. The same people and the same media who strongly opposed the police during Trump will now welcome it with open arms.

Even if it doesn't end up happening in practice, it still goes to show the sheer hypocrisy of the left (and, frankly, somewhat of the right, as even some Republican politicians have been joining this farce. And almost all of them completely failed to do anything about the domestic terrorists during the past four years. So even the Republicans are not blameless here. Almost all of them are nothing but spineless cowards.)
