Inconvenient perpetrators of hate crimes, addendum

A year ago I wrote a blog post about "inconvenient perpetrators of hate crimes", about numerous cases of egregious hate crimes committed in the United States and elsewhere, many of them very racially charged and motivated, but which the mainstream media stays mostly silent about. I particularly mention the significant raise in racial hate crimes against Jewish people in New York during 2019 (which were very clearly racist hate crimes because the perpetrators often made their intention completely clear).

One would think that the mainstream media and the politicians would be all over it, and constantly shouting about it and demanding stern measures to be taken to eradicate this surge in racist hate crimes. Yet... nothing. Politicians were silent about it, the mainstream media was largely silent about it (only occasionally making very carefully written stories about it), the woke leftist Twitter mob was largely silent about it. Why? Because the perpetrators were by far and large black and Arabic.

That's not the only widespread form of hate crime happening in the United States, though. There's actually one form of racist hate crime that's even more common, and has been going on for much longer: Physical assaults on Asian people.

The coronavirus pandemic has exacerbated the amount of assaults, but it's not the cause of it. These racist assaults have been going on for more than 10 years in many American cities.

Curiously, the leftist politicians and some of the leftist mainstream media, who have been mostly silent about it for all this time, are actually starting to take advantage of these crimes for their rhetoric. High profile politicians, like Nancy Pelosi, are talking about all these crimes and assaults against Asian people, some of them deadly, and blaming them on "white supremacy".

The problem? The vast, vast majority of the perpetrators are black men.

The leftist politicians never mention this. The leftist mainstream media very rarely makes any sort of mention of it. (Indeed, there are numerous articles talking about these crimes, where absolutely no description of the perpetrators is given, other than them being male.)

The funniest examples are the ones where "white supremacists" are blamed for the crime, even though there's actually video footage of the assault, and the perpetrator can clearly be seen.

However, as mentioned, this is not something new that has only started happening during this pandemic. This is a trend that goes way back. For example in 2008 the San Francisco police department found that in 85% of all physical assault crimes, the victim was Asian and the perpetrators were African American.

Not 85% of assaults against Asian people. 85% of all physical assault crimes period.

Curiously, you don't see these in front page news. Because, you know, the perpetrators are inconvenient for the narrative.
