Feminist Frequency loves to beg for money... for ridiculous goals

Feminist Frequency is the "non-profit" (legally speaking, at least) organization created by the infamous Anita Sarkeesian, who has become a millionaire by attacking video games and playing the victim. And man, does that organization love to e-beg. If you go to their website (which I'm not going to link to, because I don't want any extra traffic to them), as of writing this, you are greeted with a splash page begging for a donation. That's how on-your-face they are about it. The splash page doesn't even explain what the organization is about; it just begs for money.

This is part of their "2nd annual feminist frequency spring campaign", a generic fundraising campaign for their activities.

As is so typical with modern crowdfunding projects, they are offering milestone targets, ie. when the donations reach a certain amount of money, they will do something special for the donors.

And, as is so common with scammy crowdfunding projects, these milestones are completely ridiculous, in that they don't justify at all the use of the donated money.

For instance, what is their $25000 milestone? This:
"We'll launch an official FemFreq Discord where campaign supporters can chat with each other and the FemFreq team!"
What's so ridiculous about this? The fact that Discord is a 100% free service. It costs them exactly $0 to set up a Discord server where people can join and chat. It has absolutely no requirements whatsoever. If they wanted, they could do exactly that right now, at no cost to anybody.

They already have a YouTube channel and have a presence in several social media websites (again, costing them absolutely nothing), so why is creating a Discord channel something they are effectively putting behind a donation paywall? They are effectively asking money for something that requires none, not even any significant time or effort.

What's their next milestone, at $35000?
"Anita, Caro, and Ebony will virtually visit a high school class to engage them in a discussion about feminism and pop culture!"
Ah, this makes sense. The money will cover their traveling costs... right?

Oh, wait, it says "virtually". What does that mean? You guessed it: They will not actually go to any such place. Instead, they will have a Skype video call to the school in question. Once again, costing them exactly $0.

I just love how deceptively worded that paragraph is. It doesn't say "we will organize a Skype video conference call with a high school". It says that they will "visit" the high school, which is stretching the definition quite a lot, and highly deceptive. At least they put the word "virtually" there.

Also note that this will not benefit the donors in any way, shape or form. It's a donation milestone that will cost Feminist Frequency absolutely nothing, and does not give the donors anything in return. Instead, they will do the same activism they are doing anyway, just naming it a "milestone".

One has to wonder why people keep donating to them. Their YouTube channel is virtually (hah!) dead. Every video they upload gets approximately 1-2 thousand views in total, which is just pitiful. (This is especially telling given that their channel has 224 thousand subscribers, yet their videos get about 1 thousand views in the long run. This means that less than 1% of their subscribers is even watching their videos at all. Nobody is interested in them anymore, not even the long-time subscribers.)
