For about 10 years now riots have been pretty much a daily occurrence in the United States. At this very moment, as of writing this, Minnesota in particular has escalated to absolute anarchy. For several months rioters have been harassing people, assaulting people, destroying property, impeding law enforcement and committing all kinds of other serious crimes 24/7 without interruptions. Only a microscopic number of these criminals have been arrested, and even from those only some of them have been convicted for their crimes.
It's notable that the United States is literally the only country in the world where this can happen. Yes, there have been massive riots in other countries, but in general they last a day, at most two, and usually people are arrested by the hundreds, even the thousands. In pretty much no other country have such massive riots been happening 24/7 for months on end.
And do you know why that is? What is the difference between the United States and all the other countries?
The fact that in all the other countries the police actually enforces the law. In other countries the police goes and stops and arrests the people committing crimes.
The United States is literally the only country in the world, completely regardless of what kind of government system it has, where the police will just watch from the sidelines, deliberately allowing the crimes to be committed, deliberately not stopping nor arresting the criminals. It is literally the only country in the world where cops will just watch the rioting, the serious crimes being committed, for days, for weeks, for months, without doing anything about it or, at the very most, perhaps arresting five people out of fifty thousand, just for show (and even then, those five people will very rarely be convicted because the judges are also as corrupt as the cops.)
And this is completely on purpose. Police chiefs, city mayors and even state governors are very explicitly and directly ordering the police forces to not do anything, to just watch without stopping nor arresting.
These are highly illegal orders that police officers are duty-bound not to follow, but they follow them anyway because they are corrupt cowards and criminals.
And why wouldn't they? They experience no consequences for this criminal failure of duty. They have no accountability. Nobody will go after them and prosecute them for failure of duty, following illegal orders, and complicity in those crimes. Not the Democrats, not the Republicans, not federal agencies and law enforcement, not federal judges or prosecutors, not even the President of the United States himself. Nobody.
(This might not be unique to the United States, but it certainly is almost unheard of among free democratic countries.)
It's actually astonishing how blatant the corruption is in the United States government, yet nobody does anything about it.
