Another leftist falsehood about video games: Overrepresentation of "heterosexuality"

There's a video clip of a guy being interviewed in some kind of gaming or similar conference, and he's asked what trope he would like to see removed from video games, and he answers "heterosexuality". He also says that he would want to "see men kissing more."

The clear implication is that he thinks that video games are full of "heterosexual" behavior, such as people of opposite sexes kissing.

And once again they display believing in a complete falsehood.

I'm genuinely trying to think of any video game that shows two people kissing. There certainly are, but it's so utterly rare that no example comes to mind, no matter how much I try to remember.

(There is, of course, an entire subgenre of "dating sim", but I don't think he was referring to that, and was talking about all video games as a whole.)

In fact, when I try to think of examples of "heterosexual behavior" in video games, it's also really, really rare. I'm genuinely trying to think of examples, and I have a difficult time. There are certainly some games that have some drama in them that might show some hints of this, but it's very rare. In some games if the playable character and some prominent NPC, sidekick or recurring character are of opposite sexes, there might be some hints of romantic tension between the two, but very rarely.

I would say that over 99.9% of video games out there (that depict humans) are completely neutral on this. Even in the ones that have a bit more drama in them and show some romantic feelings, it tends to be subdued.

In this context, adding two men explicitly kissing to a video game not only would be extremely on-your-face, but it wouldn't in fact be any sort of "deviation from the norm" of opposite-sex couples kissing for a change, because that just doesn't happen almost ever.

This is just another one of those falsehoods that far leftists just believe about video games, like the one about gamers hating female playable characters, which is so obviously untrue that it's astonishing how they can just state it with a straight face.
