Let's face it, Donald Trump is not perhaps the best and smartest person who has been the President of the United States (he certainly has had his share of completely stupid utterances and opinions, both prior to and during his presidency), and he is a businessman rather than a politician, but he has undeniably achieved many good things during his presidency, including improving the country economically, as well as achieving international diplomatic feats thought impossible (such as successfully starting negotiations between South and North Korea).
However, I would say that he is one of the most important presidents, and people overall, of modern history not because of he has done, but just by merely having been elected president.
The 2016 campaign victory was a slap in the face of the regressive leftist mainstream media. It was a message to them saying "you do not elect presidents, the people do". The mainstream media was so sure of itself that they laughed and sneered at even the thought of Trump becoming the president, and at points gave it ridiculously low probabilities for it to happen (like less than 2% or something). It was a message from the people saying that they are sick of the regressive left-wing politics, and that they want something, someone, who actually will attend to their needs and benefit.
But even that's not the main reason why Trump is the most important president of modern history.
The main reason is that Trump being the president is acting sort of like a "canary in a coal mine". By his merely being there, being the president, has caused the regressive left to show their cards, expose their true ideology to the public, open their agenda wide open, for everybody to see.
The main danger of the neo-Marxist socialist regressive leftist ideology is that for too long it has been under the radar, mostly having an influence behind the practically closed doors of universities, slowly indoctrinating and poisoning the minds of impressionable young people. Year after year they have gained more and more power in universities, and from there pretty much everywhere, as they have pumped more and more brainwashed drones into all positions and aspects of society. Slowly but surely, every institution, every school, every company, every governmental position has been filled up by these brainwashed cultists, without the wider population even noticing. When they have started applying their regressive leftist policies in these institutions and entities, most people didn't even notice, or pay much attention to it.
Do you have to wonder how pretty much all major Silicon Valley tech corporations are full-on regressive leftists? How did that happen all of a sudden? Well, that's how. It happened over the last few decades, surreptitiously under the radar. Slowly but surely as older workers left these companies and new university graduates filled their positions, the poison was spread. And suddenly, entire corporations are now filled with social justice ideologues, from the top all the way down. And nobody noticed this happening.
Except that now that Trump became president, it made the regressive leftists expose themselves, blast all doors fully open and clearly show what they are made of, what they are thinking, and how widely they have infiltrated society.
Now everybody can see it clear as day. Now everybody can see how widespread the infiltration is. Trump merely being the president suddenly caused all these corporation CEOs, politicians, journalists and everybody, to just want to virtue-signal, and to become political activists, exposing their true intent and ideology.
This is a blessing in disguise. I'm quite certain that if Hillary Clinton had been elected president, none of these people would have felt the need to expose their ideology so blatantly, so the infiltration would have been able to keep continuing mostly under the radar. The extent of the infiltration would have never been exposed and it would have been allowed to continue.
But Trump being the president exposed all this. And quite ironically, not because of anything Trump himself has done or said. He was merely the catalyst that made the social justice ideologues expose themselves.
And now we can see what they are really like. Masked terrorists roaming the streets rioting, vandalizing, harassing and physically assaulting people, while the police just watches from the sidelines doing nothing about it, allowing it to happen. Huge megacorporations censoring, banning and discriminating against people because of their political opinions. Politicians openly and blatantly declaring how they want to destroy the country, remove all the money from rich people, open the borders and let the flood of immigrants in, all the while insulting the native population with all the names in the book.
Thanks to Trump, we can now all see this, clear as day. They have exposed themselves.
I can only hope that it's not too late to do something about it. (Unfortunately, the reform would need to start from the source itself: Universities. A complete reform of universities would need to happen, with all the neo-Marxists being kicked out and replaced with neutral staff. I don't see that happening any time soon.)
