How social justice warriors ruin the lives of celebrities

Especially in the current political climate, if some kind of celebrity, even if it's just a minor celebrity related to a very particular field (such as voice acting, for example) gets accused of something that the regressive leftist social justice warriors don't like, and this gets traction among them, they will do everything in their power to ruin that person's entire life and career.

And the scary thing is that it works.

To achieve this, the social justice warriors will engage in a massive coordinated, planned and sustained harassment campaign against that person, blocking him (and it's most often, although not always, a him) from anything that he may ever do anywhere, especially if it's related to his profession or what he's famous for.

If, for example, that person is due to attend some kind of conference related to his field of work (such as voice acting), the social justice mob will do everything they can to stop it from happening.

It, obviously, starts with a massive campaign directed towards the organizers of the event to ban him from attending. Often this works. If it does not work, and the organizers simply ignore it, they will very quickly escalate the campaign to a higher lever. They will start harassing the owner of the venue (be it a person or corporation), and any possible sponsors and advertising companies monetizing the event, to make them pressure the organizers. This is even more effective, as sponsors and advertisers are extremely eager to withdraw from anything that appears to be controversial, and without the money the organizers of the event simply cannot proceed, because there is simply nothing to proceed with, if there is no money to pay the rent and the workers necessary to hold the event. There are many actual examples of this.

If none of this still works, for example because there are no sponsors and the event is held at some place actually owned by the event organizers who don't care about the campaign (or the actual owners likewise don't care), then they will escalate it even further. The social justice mob will now start a harassment campaign against anybody related in any way to the persona non grata, to the organizers, or to anybody who is in any way involved or has something to do with the event. This may include family members, employers, or anybody who is related in any way. This harassment campaign can be extremely vicious and may include up to threats of violence, and death threats. Again, there are many actual examples of this. In one particular real case the social justice activists actually started reporting the lawyer of the persona non grata to the bar for "unethical conduct". In other cases spurious and completely false reports have been sent to the police and other authorities (such as the FBI) about the people involved. All these are real examples.

If none of this still works, and the event ends up happening with the person attending, they will escalate it even further. Now the campaign will move to try to sabotage the event itself in any way possible. This includes all sorts of tactics up to physical vandalism and calling bomb threats (both of which, you guessed it, are real examples). Bomb threats in particular are nasty in that they simply cannot be ignored, and severely and seriously waste the time of the police. And, unfortunately, bomb threats, which are of course highly illegal, can nevertheless be sent in a manner that's pretty much completely untraceable, so the culprits almost never get caught.

And the thing is, in many, perhaps most, of these cases, the person in question didn't actually do anything heinous. In many cases it's questionable if he did anything objectionable at all. In other cases the "crime" was extremely minor, and nothing that was even remotely illegal. Even if the action was somewhat improper, the reaction to it is nevertheless completely out of proportion by several orders of magnitude.

And this is becoming more and more common by the day.

The only solace one can take from these (although it is admittedly a bit callous) is that sometimes it happens to one of their own people. The outrage mob doesn't really care which side the persona non grata is. If he became the enemy, then they will attack him viciously no matter what, and there's nothing stopping them. When it does happen to a social justice warrior, an "ally", then with any luck he will learn a valuable lesson.
