Soviet-style Communism (which is no way better than any other totalitarian ideology such as Fascism or Nazism) has somehow gained a lot of foothold particularly in the United States as of late (possibly because of the actions of the KGB three-four decades ago.)
Like with so many other things, some basic slogans of Soviet-style Communism are being blindly repeated by the brainwashed American leftist masses with next to zero understanding of what it actually means.
One of the most prominent such slogans is, of course, that they "support the working class" and want to give the power back to the "working class", that they are fighting for the rights of that class, and want to take down the oligarchs and seize the means of production for the working class and yada yada yada.
Their political parties (most prominently the DSA) also love to claim that the "working class" overwhelmingly supports them back, particularly the oppressed minorities who are, according to them, being taken advantage of by the oligarchs and giant megacorporations.
But the thing is, almost none of the brainwashed leftist hordes actually understand, realize or even think of who exactly this "working class" is supposed to be. What kind of people belong to this mythical "working class" that they so much "support".
They don't seem to think of and realize that the "working class" that they are talking about actually consists of so-called blue-collar job workers: Construction workers, plumbers, carpenters, welders, truck drivers, factory workers, miners, electricians, oil drillers, and so on and so forth.
Most of the people doing those jobs are actually people that the far left hates and detests. The overwhelming majority of them tend to be very stereotypical and archetypal conservative Americans to the core, very patriotic, usually voting for the Republicans, fathers of traditional families, holding opinions that the modern American left classifies as "fascist" in their own made-up vocabulary.
They are exactly the people who the American left does not support, and on the contrary hate and loathe and constantly attack. The vast majority of the American half that they hate consists precisely of that blue-collar "working class" (precisely the one that Marx himself was talking about.)
When these brainwashed American leftists speak the words "working class" and "workers", what they are actually thinking is about they themselves: Parasites and free-loaders who either do nothing and live at the expense of society or, at most, do very easy lightweight office or similar jobs (such as baristas, working in some kind of shop or, most commonly, being a free-loader in the ranks of some giant megacorporation, contributing nothing to it and only causing problems there.)
Indeed, when they talk about "workers" they not only think of, but sometimes even show pictures of, Starbucks baristas, not some dirty men servicing an oil rig or cleaning a sewer.
These are people who have not seen a single day of actual hard work in their entire lives. They say they "support the working class" but they have absolutely no idea of what that actually means.
Oh, and by the way, they most definitely do not get the support of the actual working class. According to statistics only a very small percentage of so-called blue-collar workers support the DSA or the American left in general, and quite a large amount of "minorities" actually vote Republican (for example, 55% of Hispanic male voters voted for Trump in the 2024 election.)
