Another notable difference between conservative and "progressive" influencers

I have written several blog posts about the quite notable differences I have noticed between American "right-wing" conservatives and the far-leftist social justice warriors, both when looking at the vocal activists producing content (such as videos or social media posts) and when looking at their viewers and followers.

I have noticed over the years yet another such clear difference.

Unsurprisingly, I have watched quite a lot of videos by famous American conservative content creators, such as Matt Walsh, Joseph Watson, Ben Shapiro, Michael Knowles, and so on. I have also sometimes stumbled across the YouTube channels of very notorious and infamous prolific far-leftist activist bigots.

Almost without exception a pattern emerges when examining their uploaded videos lists:

The topics that the American conservative activists are producing tend to be very varied in their content. Sure, sometimes they will talk about Joe Biden (when he was still the President) or Trump, but those tend to be a minority of their videos. There is no very specific topic that they tend to focus on, and they often talk about quite diverse topics. Sure, the vast majority of these topics are closely related to current politics (only very occasionally talking about something completely unrelated), but within this landscape their topics are quite varied. They might talk about some politician in one video, about some political (or even non-political) TikTok trend in another, someone's blog post about some particular political topic (such as abortion or marriage) in another, and so on and so forth.

Sure, there are certain topics that are very typical for American conservatives that get more videos than other more niche topics, but in the grand scheme of things they don't overly focus on just one single topic, or even two particular ones. If you were to list the main topic of each video by one of those authors during the past year, the list would probably have a couple dozen entries, easily, most of them unrelated to the others.

In a quite clear contrast, when looking at the video list of most prolific far-leftist activists, one single topic of discussion seems to overwhelmingly dominate. You might have guessed it: Donald Trump.

Ok, in the last few months also Elon Musk, but this topic is so tightly connected and intertwined with Donald Trump that those videos can well be classified as effectively being about the same topic.

The video list of most of these far-leftist activists just looks pretty ridiculous: Literally something like 8 or 9 out of 10 videos is about Trump/Musk, with just the occasional video being about something else (usually "lgbt/trans rights", which seems to be the most common secondary topic, although far, far behind Donald Trump.) It's ridiculous to see Trump's or Musk's face repeated over and over and over, in the video thumbnails of their uploaded videos.

This speaks to me of obsession.

You could argue that those American conservative political commentators also have a sort of "obsession", but in this case it's more of an "obsession" about conservative politics in general, not one single narrow topic in particular. This quite in contrast with most far-leftist activists, who seemingly can only talk about one single thing and almost nothing else.
