Some sociopolitical commentators and other opinionated people on the more conservative side of the political compass argue that "gender equality" will never be achieved, but most of them are referring to biological reasons, ie. the fact that humans are a sexually dimorphic species and thus men and women physically cannot be completely equal in everything ever, and there will never be absolute equality.
However, that's not the point I'm making here. I mean something quite different with that sentiment.
More specifically: "Gender equality" will never be achieved because for the far-leftist activists who want it, it's an eternally moving goal that always moves away no matter what society does in order to reach it.
In fact, most far-leftists couldn't even define what they mean by "gender equality" any more than they can define what "man" or "woman" means. Ask three far-leftist activists what "gender equality" means and you'll get four different answers.
Moreover, and more to the point, whenever society at large placates once again to their latest demands, they will never, ever, ever be happy. There will never, ever become a point where they will say: "Ok, this is enough, now gender equality has been achieved, everything is as it should be, no more has to be done, this is perfect."
That literally cannot and will not happen. Ever.
As long as modern far-leftism exists as a prevailing ideology, they will never, ever say anything even close to that. They will always, always find something to complain about, they will always find some "inequality", some "oppression", something that needs "fixing". Always. That's just a fundamental core feature of the ideology. The ideology lives on that basis. It needs that. The fact that it demands but is never happy with what it gets is what drives it and allows it to exist. It's a fundamental driving force. It's fuel to its existence.
And, thus, "gender equality" will never be achieved. That's just a hard fact.
