Democracy has failed in the United Kingdom

The social and economic situation in the United Kingdom has been going down for a couple of decades now, at an ever accelerating rate. Millions of immigrants, most of them completely illegal, are being imported into the country who for the most part do not contribute to the economy nor pay taxes and are pure beneficiaries of welfare, and the economy, governmental services have been going down. Crime statistics are going up, safety is going down, and police authoritarianism has significantly increased. The situation has become so bad that just last year, in 2024, a whopping 257000 working tax-paying citizens of the United Kingdom moved out of the country. In the previous year the number was 77000, which is itself also staggering, and shows that the mass emigration of the working class, which actually contributes to the economy and society, is only accelerating. So the UK has brought in a million people who only consume tax money, they don't pay it, and has lost over a quarter million people who paid taxes. All the while crime has gone up and safety has gone down.

And the thing is, the government of the UK is very clearly set on continuing this self-destructive behavior forever. They don't seem to have any intention of stopping. On the contrary, they are only accelerating the process as much as possible. It's like they have gone completely insane and are literally trying to destroy the country.

Normally in a free democratic society this kind of problem would be solved at the ballot box. In a free democratic society the people are not helpless: They literally choose the government! If they are not happy with the current government, they will create a new one at the next elections. That's exactly how representative democracy is supposed to work.

Yet, it appears that for some unfathomable reason this core tool of democracy is not working in the United Kingdom. Either people are not voting to have this situation fixed, or it doesn't matter who they vote for, the situation isn't being fixed. It seems that the problem cannot be solved at the ballot box.

For an incredible and unfathomable reason democracy has failed in the United Kingdom, and people are completely powerless to stop the government. Elections don't matter one iota: Election after election after election, no changes. The same self-destructive behavior by the government just continues.

How can representative democracy fail so utterly in a country? Well, I don't really understand the details, but here we have an example.

Only question is, if democracy is not working, what can be done to fix the problem? Or is the UK just going to completely collapse after the mass emigration of tax-payers flee the country?
