When the American far-leftist cult at some point during last year (as of writing this) decided that Elon Musk is evil incarnate, second only to Trump himself, many of them stopped using Twitter because Musk happened to own the company, and migrated to another similar social media platform. Even though there are several alternatives (some of them even outright advertising themselves as anti-right-wing far-leftist heavens), for one reason or another they chose the site Bluesky as their go-to alternative. And, of course, when an idea starts spreading among the cult, everybody will blindly follow it.
When the mass exodus started happening, quite unsurprisingly Bluesky reported about a massive surge of "abusive post" reports, skyrocketing from about a thousand a month to something like 40 thousand a week. Par for the course, of course.
While the number of users and activity skyrocketed for a few months, both have now been on a relatively steady downfall for quite some time. The site clearsky, which reports statistics about Bluesky, reports that as of writing this there are about 35 million active accounts and about 14 million deleted accounts. And the former number isn't exactly improving, as it has been on the decline for quite some time now.
More tellingly, it also publishes some statistics that really showcase the far-leftist mentality: Particularly, 36% of Bluesky users are blocking at least one other account, and a whopping 53% of accounts are being blocked by someone.
It's quite certain that 53% of Bluesky users are not "right-wing" activists. While statistics on political affiliation are very hard to gather, it's quite safe to say that most probably at least 80%, perhaps even 90%, of current Bluesky users are far-leftist activists.
Which, of course, means that the majority of people being blocked by far-leftist activists are other far-leftist activists.
And, indeed, when people have investigated and dug out some of the people who are being most blocked by other people, many of them are very notorious far-leftist social justice warriors.
The vast, vast majority of activists on Bluesky who have extensive amounts of other users blocked have not created those block lists manually. Instead, they are subscribed to automated "block lists" created by other users. The site supports automatically blocking people in such lists, so there's no manual selection needed.
There are myriads and myriads of these "block lists" because essentially pretty much anybody can create them, and anybody can subscribe to them. Are these block lists carefully and manually curated, with the author of the list maintaining its integrity and making sure that only people who actually deserve it end up in the list? Of course not. The vast, vast majority of these lists are themselves fully automated via scripts: Very typically these scripts scour new accounts and see what accounts they are subscribed to (and even what accounts those accounts are subscribed to), and blindly and automatically add people on the list depending on that alone. In other words, if some account is deemed a "persona non grata", not only will that account be added to the block list, but anybody who subscribes to that account will likewise be added there, indiscriminately. Unsurprisingly, many of these lists contain hundreds of thousands of accounts, all of them added automatically with a script with very lax rules.
And, unsurprisingly, the vast majority of people in these block lists are far-leftist activists themselves. (Some of them have actually made posts about having no idea why they have ended up in such lists.)
Some users have blocked literally millions of other users. A huge bunch have blocked hundreds of thousands of other users. They just take every block list they come across and apply it blindly, with complete disregard.
All of this just goes to show the mentality of the far left: When they run out of enemies, they will find enemies among themselves.
Indeed, the entire ideology is a cult of victimhood. It's the Marxist core idea of society consisting of "oppressors" and "the oppressed", ie. the victims. This ideology of victimhood has been so deeply entrenched in the far-leftist psyche that they simply cannot get rid of it. They will always, always, always find oppressors and victims, everywhere, at all times, no matter what. Even if they succeed in eliminating everybody that they currently consider "oppressors", they will just find new ones among themselves. They simply cannot let go of that deeply ingrained mentality. They cannot live in a society where there are no oppressors and no victims. They will designate the oppressors and the victims if they have to.
This is a good indication of what would happen to actual real life society if they ever were to gain absolute totalitarian control. It would crumble under its own impossibility.
