Why is "appealing to the male fantasy" a bad thing?

In 2015 Buzzfeed published a video of a feminist playing Grand Theft Auto. At one point she retorts "I wrote a blog post a while ago about why I f***ing hate video games. They appeal to the male fantasy!"

More recently that particular clip became a source of memes, where people would take that clip and then append some video game footage that was pretty much the exact opposite of that, or in other ways subverted or made fun of that notion in some manner.

But I would like to seriously ask: Why is it a bad thing that some games "appeal to the male fantasy"?

This is a completely serious question that I would like an answer to.

Rather obviously not all video games do that, not even a majority of them. In fact, only a small fraction of all existing video games "appeal to the male fantasy." But even when taking only those games, why is it a bad thing? Why is it something to object to?

Video games are a form of escapism and, most importantly, a form of entertainment. "Appealing to the male fantasy" is a form of entertainment for many people who enjoy it. Why is it bad to cater to this (quite sizeable) audience, and to "appeal" to what they enjoy?

So what if such games can't be enjoyed by everybody. No game can. There is not one single game in existence in this world that would appeal to every single person in existence. They don't have to. Particular game types and particular content appeal to a segment of the population, and that's true for all games, completely regardless of game type and content.

Give that fact, why is this one type of content singled out, from all the others, and considered a bad thing? Why are stricter standards applied to this type of content?

Note that her objection was not "it causes violence", or that "it degrades women" or the like. Her objection was literally "they appeal to the male fantasy" as if that, all in itself, is a bad thing. As if we are supposed to agree that "appealing to the male fantasy" is something to object to and to desire to be removed from existence.

So why? What's so objectionable about it? Serious question.
