Western reporters seem desperate to find something positive about the Taliban

When that demented clown that some people elected into the Oval Office because they hated Trump so much tried to virtue-signal by "ending the neverending war", ie. pull all American troops from Afghanistan, it took but mere days for the Taliban to take over via military force (and the unwillingness of the Afghan government and meek military to do anything about it).

And the Taliban couldn't even wait for a week before they started kidnapping women and girls, shooting at crowds of people trying to flee the country, and horrendously torture people who worked with the American soldiers, uploading videos of it online. There are heartbreaking videos of women crying and pleading American soldiers to save them, to take them away from the country, because they know what will very soon happen to them, and if they can't get out, there's absolutely nothing they can do about it because nobody will help them.

The Taliban are monsters and subhuman scum that do not deserve to be considered even human. They are worse than cockroaches, rats and pigs.

What baffles me the most, however, is the attitude of many members of the western press.

Some of them are reporting accurately what's happening. Others, not so much.

In fact, there are some reporters who seem outright desperate to try to find something positive about the Taliban and its members. The Taliban are allowing some members of the western press to enter the country and interview them, promising that nothing will happen to them. However, rather than ask them the hard-hitting questions, some members of the press seem to be begging them to tell them something positive. It's like they are giving the Taliban members every possible opportunity to show that they aren't so bad and evil. They are asking questions like "will you allow free speech in Afghanistan", and "what will women's rights be", and "will you allow women to be democratically voted into government".

Why even ask such questions? What's the point? Even if they answered in the positive, they would just be lying. It's like these reporters are begging for some redeeming qualities, perhaps because they want to downplay and whitewash their inhumanity.
