During the past couple of years Europe has become mentally insane, taking literally millions and millions of migrants from Africa and the Middle-East, and there are no signs that this is stopping or even slowing down (with some estimates being that even currently something between half and one million migrants are entering Europe every year). Germany alone has taken something like 2 million migrants so far, pretty much completely indiscriminately. For the first year or so of this so-called "migrant crisis" the media used the war in Syria as the go-to excuse to justify all this. However, since it has become clear to everybody that well over 90% of all the migrants entering Europe are not from Syria, even the press has pretty much stopped using that excuse. You don't see the term "Syrian refugee" used much anymore (even though it was pretty much the only term used back when this madness started). Even the press doesn't bother to pretend anymore, probably because nobody believes that story anylonger. The fact is that the vast majority of these "refugees" come from Africa, not Syria. A good portion also come from other countries in the Middle-East. Some of them come from as far as South Asia. There are countless human trafficking rings bringing people to Europe from all over. It's a very lucrative business for them. And, what's worse, many "humanitarian" groups in Europe are implicitly helping these trafficking rings.
The people in charge in the European Union have zero willingness in stopping or even limiting this. This has absolutely nothing to do with Syria anymore. Even if complete peace is achieved in Syria right now, and it becomes the most peaceful and free country in the world, a literal paradise on Earth, this insane immigration policy is still being pushed in Europe. The European Union has been already talking for months about literally changing its policies regarding this, in order to normalize unrestricted mass immigration into Europe. They want to make the free entry into Europe a "human right" that cannot be restricted in any way, shape or form, and they want to impose this new rule onto every member state.
Anyway, to the actual point of this post.
Some have pointed out that this massive influx of people into Europe is having an unintended consequence that almost nobody is noticing, aware of, nor paying attention to. The fact is that the vast majority of the people arriving into Europe are young men. The gender imbalance is really significant. (I believe estimates range somewhere between 70 and 90% of all immigrants being male.) When you have literally millions of people entering some countries, with the vast majority of them being young men, this is creating a gender imbalance in the country, which is getting worse and worse over time.
There are many studies out there, old and recent, about the effects of gender imbalance on societies, especially when it's in the direction of there being more men than women. There are several notable existing examples of this, most prominently China (where there are about 118 men for every 100 women, due to rather dark cultural practices.) There are also many countries that have historically, and even to this day, a de facto gender imbalance due to polygamy (even though the total number of men and women may be roughly the same, in practice there are less women "available" due to a widespread practice of polygamy, which effectively means there are more men than women in practice.)
These studies note that in places, such as towns, communities, cities, and sometimes entire countries, where there's a gender imbalance (literal or de facto) in the form of there being more men than women, the amount of violent crime seems directly proportional to the amount of imbalance. The more gender-imbalanced the society is, the more violent crime there is. In fact, some studies attribute some past civil wars in some countries to have been aggravated by such a gender imbalance (caused by widespread practice of polygamy in those cases).
It doesn't exactly help that most of the migrants coming to Europe come from highly patriarchal cultures where there's very little respect for women (especially western women who don't "dress up" appropriately) and taking advantage of other people, and violent reactions to being wronged, is the norm. Most of these people who migrate into Europe are moving from poverty... into poverty. They were expecting a luxurious life where everything is given to them for free, such as housing, food, money... but in many cases they end up in asylum centers and even tent camps where sure, they are given free food, but that's about it. It's not exactly the luxurious life they were promised.
Even those who do get into a relatively "luxurious" life, where they get an actual private apartment, and a monthly free allowance from the government to spend the money in any way they want, without them having to do anything about it... well, that last part can also be an actual problem. When people are not held to any responsibility and nothing is expected of them, when they are handed everything for free and they aren't expected to actually work or do anything to earn it, they become spoiled, cocky and demanding. They get the idea that they can demand whatever they want, and expect to get it, and get it for free. And if they don't, they throw a tantrum.
Now, add this to the frustration that there are less women than men competing for them...
