Because of the recent solar eclipse, flat-earthers all over the internet are once again making tons and tons of social media posts and videos about how the eclipse is not caused by the Moon being in front of the Sun and yada yada yada, making up all kinds of random stuff using completely made-up arguments and blurry photos.
Yet, once again, I have not seen a single mention, a single comment, a single reference to, a single explanation attempt, a single excuse, not even a vague hand-wave or dismissal, nothing, not a peep, about the one question that they just have zero answers to. From the thousands and thousands and thousands of posts and videos, I have yet to see a single one that tackles this problem, mentions it in any way, and much less tries to explain it.
And that is: How exactly are scientists able to predict solar eclipses literally decades in advance, to the accuracy of seconds, and where the path of totality and partiality will be, to the accuracy of meters?
Indeed, scientists are able to predict exactly when the eclipse starts, when the full coverage begins, when it ends, and when the eclipse itself ends. They are also able to predict the exact places on Earth where the eclipse will be visible from. They can predict exactly the area on Earth where the full eclipse will be visible (and for how long), and where a partial eclipse will be visible (and how much of the Sun will be covered when viewed from a particular location.)
And they don't predict this like an hour before it happens, or a few days before it happens. They are able to predict it literally decades in advance, even centuries.
And these predictions can actually be corroborated by anybody: You can go right now to various websites that will tell you when the eclipses will happen, like for example the timeanddate eclipses page, or any of the other such sources. You can then take the exact date, time of day (to the second accuracy), and save the picture of the path of totality of an eclipse that will happen in 5 years, or 10 years, or just take all of them, and then you can wait and see if it does indeed happen exactly when predicted.
The funny thing about these is that the predictions are not something that's being claimed retroactively. "We totally predicted this one!" It's something that anybody, including you yourself, can corroborate right now: Get a screenshot or whatever of the predictions, wait until that time, and corroborate that it really happens exactly as was predicted. Predictions are impossible to fake retroactively.
What flat-earthers don't have any answer to is how science is able to predict them. Nothing. They have absolutely no idea. Not even wild completely asinine hypotheses. They are not even saying that Satan is giving that information or something. Not a peep.
As I have written before, what do flat-earthers do when they have absolutely no explanation for something? They just ignore it, don't think about it, and keep quiet about it. They never talk about it, and they just shove the entire question out of their thoughts.
