Joey Swoll is a social media commentator and influencer who is a bodybuilder and primarily makes videos commenting on people's bad gym etiquette and behavior at the gym, and other tangential topics.
Some time ago he uploaded a video where he was cosplaying as his childhood hero Hulk Hogan, and I think he also recently made an eulogy because of his recent passing. Unsurprisingly, because Hulk Hogan was one of these assigned enemies of the far left, the leftist mob got angry at him and started their endless whining.
At first Swoll responded with a video where he said that "just because someone [ie. Hogan] has made a mistake in his life doesn't mean he hasn't done good things" and so on. Since the only "crime" that Hogan has been accused of by the far-leftist cancel mob is using some Bad Words (heaven forbid!), this seemed very reasonable. Hogan apparently said Bad Words, and then later himself made a groveling apology about it and, as far as I know, never repeated that mistake. Water under the bridge, right? He made a mistake (at least from the far-leftist point of view), he apologized, he learned his lesson, so everything is good again?
Well, of course not. When the modern far leftist cancel mob has chosen an enemy, they never forgive and never forget. So the attacks against Swoll continued relentlessly. They were so bad that he relented and made a groveling apology video himself.
An apology video that's just absolutely pathetic.
It's ironic that he probably knows very well that Hogan himself made a similar apology statement, on national TV and all, and that didn't help one iota. Why does he think that he is different? Why does he think that if he makes an apology video, then the leftist cancel mob will forgive him? He is being completely naive and stupid.
But from all the stupid and cringe things he says in the apology video, something that has been commented to death by others, I would like to highlight this one tidbit:
"Also during last night's livestream I used the word 'colored' instead of saying 'person of color'."
I would almost want to believe that this is satire and he is actually making fun of the cancel mob. Unfortunately, I doubt that's the case. From everything I have seen he seems to be genuinely apologizing for using the word "colored" instead of "person of color".
Just think about how asinine that is. Like with so many other words and terms, the modern far left has just decided that one expression is "racist" and the other is not. Because reasons. And intent doesn't matter one iota. It doesn't matter what your were expressing and referring to, and what your intent was, when you used that word: The word itself is banned and must never be used, else you are a "racist" completely regardless of what your intent was. Just by using that word, regardless of anything else. That's just completely asinine.
Of course it's all a power grab: Freedom of speech is one of the most important freedoms that people living in a free society have. When they can limit your free speech, when they can ban individual words and attack you if you just as much as say them out loud, they exert power and control over you. When they can limit your expression of free speech, they restrict you, they control you, they have power of you and your actions.
Joey Swoll, you lost all my respect. I will never watch any of your videos ever again. Well, unless you reverse what you did (which I highly doubt you will.) You caved to the cancel mob, bowed down to them and submitted yourself to their will, and thus you lost all respect. I won't be watching any of your videos ever again.
