It's highly ironic that the "progressive" crowd in the western world, especially in certain countries, keep repeating the mantra of how women are oppressed, how nobody listens nor believes them, how they are just ignored, dismissed and laughed at when they make serious allegations... yet time and again the modern society proves them wrong by constantly reacting and over-reacting to complaints and accusations made by women, often single individuals, and companies, employees, CEOs and higher-ups bend over backwards to placate to them and "correct" any alleged slight that they are complaining about or allegedly suffered. These complainers, most usually women, have an incredible amount of power in society, making society grovel at their feet because of mere accusations, yet they still maintain that they are "oppressed" and nobody listens to them. They make themselves into martyrs, while abusing the system for their own personal benefit.
In the modern world being a self-martyred high-profile woman can be extraordinarily profitable. There's no better example of this than the infamous Anita Sarkeesian, who literally made herself a millionaire by self-martyrdom, by playing the victim, through pity donations. She has got to the covers of really big magazines, she has had exalting articles written and TV programs made about her, she has got to speak in myriads of high-profile institutions, including the United Nations... yet to this day she still plays the victim and claims she's "oppressed", while society and the industry bends over backwards to placate to her and showers her with pity money. All the while she's doing pretty much nothing of much value, other than regularly whining on social media, and making a few YouTube videos nobody is watching, not even her followers.
The other pundit who got into the same self-martyrdom wave was Zoe Quinn. If anything, she's even worse than Anita. Her self-martyrdom is orders of magnitude worse and more nefarious, and her actions and her lies a lot more radical. However, she has not been even nearly as successful capitalizing her martyrdom, only gaining a small fraction of what her pal Sarkeesian has, and I wouldn't be surprised if she feels constant jealousy and secret resentment because of it.
This time, however, Zoe Quinn has crossed the line. She has absolutely and completely crossed the line by a country mile.
For some reason (perhaps because she has been in monetary trouble; she has set up for quite a long time a crowdfunding campaign in order to develop some kind of video game, and she has not delivered anything in years, and people are starting to demand their money back and stopping funding her) she suddenly decided to accuse some game developer of sexually molesting her.
Apparently this happened many years ago (like 3 or 4 years ago), and suddenly only now she decides to reveal it. And not to the police. To her Twitter feed. Suddenly she decided to write a long string of tweets detailing her sob story.
Did she get actually molested by that man, or is she simply making stuff up in order to become relevant again? I don't know. However, the consequences of her sudden tirade have been devastating.
The company that had hired that man fired him almost immediately, within a few days. Based on mere uncorroborated unproven accusations. (That's your "society does not listen nor believe women" in action.) Her Twitter pals, many of the so-called "blue checkmarks" on Twitter, obviously immediately started supporting her and spreading these allegations. Rather obviously and unsurprisingly the man was immediately subjected to a barrage of online harassment and threats.
The man is now dead. He committed suicide, just a few days after this happened.
Of course it's too soon to corroborate that he committed suicide because of this incident, but it would be quite a coincidence if it wasn't. He was accused of sexual assault, he was almost immediately fired from his job, and he was the target of a massive online harassment campaign. All this started by the unproven accusations of one single woman (who is rather notorious for being a lying for-profit self-martyr).
Many of the "blue checkmarks" on Twitter who supported her and helped the message spread have gone into hiding, so to speak. They have privated and even deleted their Twitter accounts. No doubt they are hoping that this whole thing will just go away and be forgotten.
I wouldn't be surprised if the press, which is regressive leftist at large, will play along and not report on this, nor make a big fuss about it, and even stay completely silent about it. It was one of their favorite pets, after all, who caused this man's death. They will probably just stay hush hush until it goes away and is forgotten. I wouldn't be surprised.
