Why it's important for Trump & Republicans to win in 2020

Personally I'm not a huge fan of American conservatives, and therefore of the American Republican party. They are too corporatist, too pro-anarchocapitalist, too anti-welfare (opposing an universal welfare system like it were the most horrible thing in the world), too pro-gun, too anti-environmental, and overall way too much conspiracy theorists and anti-science.

On the other hand, there are only two options in the United States, and the alternative is becoming much worse. The problem with the alternative, ie. the Democratic party, is that they are becoming more and more totalitarian by the day.

Said party, and its representatives and presidents, used to be quite reasonable. For instance, since almost the beginning of time they wanted stronger border control, and more expeditious deportation of illegal immigrants, especially those who have committed a crime. For example, the previous president himself, Barack Obama, one of the most famous and recognized Democrat presidents in recent history, made many speeches (both when running for president and during his 8 years in office) advocating for stronger border security and faster deportation of illegal immigrants. Hillary Clinton herself, when running for president in 2015 and 2016, and as incredible as that might sound today, advocated for stricter border control, and even a border barrier (there is video footage of her answering like this to a question about illegal immigration, some time in 2015 or 2016).

However, during the past three-or-so years, the Democratic party has become more and more radicalized, and they are becoming more and more totalitarian by the day. Trump Derangement Syndrome and anti-Republicanism is strong with them, and they will oppose anything proposed by either one of those, solely on principle rather than rationality.

Yes, they will even go against their own principles, and change their stances, if the Republicans for once agree with them. For example, Democrats have always been for stricter restrictions on gun ownership, and stricter background checks for people purchasing guns. It has been for decades one of their key political principles.

So, what happened recently? For once, the Republicans agreed on one thing: They proposed stricter background checks for immigrants who want to purchase a firearm. And what do you know, many Democrat representatives threw their long-held principles and opposed this bill. Suddenly they don't want stricter background checks for people who want to purchase firearms. Just because the Republicans are proposing it.

And this is just but one example of many. The Democratic party is also becoming more and more totalitarian by the day. Dissent is not allowed. Recently some key Democratic representatives were talking about creating a list of other Democratic representatives who vote in parliament against the Democrats and who side with the Republicans. This list would be used to shun these representatives in the primaries of future elections. Diversity of opinions is not allowed. Dissent is not allowed. Only one single opinion is allowed, and those who dissent will be punished.

Why do I think it's important for Trump to win in 2020, instead of whatever Democratic candidate will be running against him? Because if this goes on like it has been, if the Democrats ever get in power in the United States, with their current extremist mentality, they may end up destroying the economy of the country completely. They are running on the premise that they want to reverse and destroy everything that Trump has done (or seemingly done), they want to open their borders, and they'll end up destroying all the economic growth that has happened during Trump's administration. They may end up throwing the country in an economic crisis of unprecedented levels, not seen since the Great Depression of the 1920's. As long as it goes against what Trump did (or allegedly did), they will do everything they can to undermine it, even if it means destroying the entire country.

Why do I care? I'm not a citizen, nor do I live in the country. I care because of the world-wide economic influence that the United States has. If the United States goes into an economic crisis, the world will go into an economic crisis, and this may have repercussions far and wide (including up to war among some countries).

From the outside, the Republican Party may not be the party we want in power, but it's the party we need in power. The alternative is much worse.
