Democracy has failed in the United Kingdom

Democracy is one of the greatest things that humanity has ever invented. It has brought peace and prosperity to most of the world. It has allowed many countries to become extremely rich, with very low crime rates and where people don't need to live in poverty and have very high quality of life, while at the same time preserving maximal freedom for the citizens: Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of movement, freedom to choose your career path as you wish.

In a democratic country the government belongs to the people, not some dictators or some aristocratic elite: The government is by the people, from among the people, for the people. And, most importantly, it cycles constantly. This is important because if at any given moment the government starts working against the people and do detrimental things to the country, the people have the power to elect a new government that will set things right.

And what's absolutely brilliant about this system is that it's completely peaceful and legal: Democracy gives people the power to, effectively, "replace" the government in a 100% peaceful and lawful manner. There is no need for uprisings, or revolts, or overthrowing the government by force. It can be done completely peacefully, with zero violence, and in a completely legally, ethically and morally correct manner, using a completely lawful peaceful process of democratic voting.

As good as it is, the democratic system is not flawless, however.

The biggest flaw is that for the citizens to have a choice to "replace" the government with people that will do the right thing, there need to be people who will do the right thing and are putting themselves up to vote in the democratic elections.

In other words, if there's nobody to vote for, who will fix the problems that citizens are having, or there are too few such people to make any difference, then democracy fails. If even the people who claim they will fix the problems if voted into government end up not doing it, and instead just conform to the established norms, and nothing changes, democracy fails.

One would think that this is impossible: Of course there will always be alternatives. Of course there will always be people who are willing to fix things, and who citizens can vote for.

But apparently not, and it appears that the United Kingdom is currently the perfect example of this.

The country is being destroyed by its government: The UK government is spending several billion pounds every single year to bring, house and give all kinds of benefits to people illegally entering the country, at the expense of the citizens. They are literally giving these criminals a much better treatment than their own citizens who live under the poverty line or are even homeless. Crime is on the raise, and the UK police is doing very little to combat it. Instead, they have become a totalitarian thought police, throwing people in jail for expressing the "wrong" opinions, while not even investigating the vast majority of actual crimes that are happening. The quality of life of suburb after suburb, city after city, town after town, is going down, with businesses closing, houses and infrastructure falling into disrepair, and garbage accumulating everywhere.

The UK government is set on not just continuing to do this for the foreseeable future, but they have been increasing the amount of money spent on this year after year, and there appears to be no stopping it.

People in the UK are becoming more and more fed up with this.

And the problem is, as mentioned, that democracy has failed in the country. The people essentially have no peaceful democratic way to fix the problem. They have nobody to vote for. There is no political party they could vote for in order to fix this, at least not one that's big enough to make a difference. There's nothing that the citizens of the UK can do, under the premise of peaceful democracy.

Democracy has failed in the UK. There appear to be only two possible outcomes: Either the country completely collapses economically and socially, or there will be a violent uprising against the government. I see no other choices.
