It is undeniable, and a bit scary, that game development studio after game development studio, mostly in the west, has been invaded by the cancer that's modern far leftism, and how one after the other they have started to placate to the so-called "modern audience" (an audience that for the most part are not their customers), and one after another they have started deriding, insulting and despising their own customers. What started as "'gamers' don't have to be your audience" in 2014, rather than being relegated to the annals of history, has now become more and more the norm, as studio after studio has been embracing this toxic ideology.
And not only have these studios started deriding and insulting their own customers, the toxic ideology is being reflected in their products. "The message" is being shoved more and more into the video games, female characters are being deliberately uglified (most egregiously often compared to the real-life people who were used as models to design those characters), and more and more things are being done to video games to piss off the "gamers". And, in general, studio after studio has been convinced that these "gamers" that all the messaging and all these changes are specifically designed to irritate and piss off form a minuscule minority of their customerbase and thus it doesn't matter if they stop buying the game (and, in typical far-leftist fashion, many of these studios outright state that they don't want these 'gamers' as their customers.) When in actual fact these 'gamers' that they so much despise form the vast majority of their customerbase.
And thus we have seen big budget games failing, and entire studios collapsing. Even well-established major game studios, like Ubisoft, on the brink of going bankrupt and in danger of being sold out.
Meanwhile most game studios in the east are not afraid of bringing to their customers what they want. They don't shove "the message" into the games, they are not afraid of designing sexy female characters, and they don't insult their very customers.
If this trend were to continue and isn't reversed, it might well end up in a major crisis for western game studios, as more and more gamers become fed up with being insulted and moving to buy products of game studios that don't do that and instead give them what they want.
