No, the "UFOs" are not alien spacecraft, they are completely mundane

Sometimes I weep for humanity. No matter how much we progress and advance in knowledge and technology, no matter how much our education system advances, the vast, vast majority of people, even intelligent people, act completely stupid when it comes to things that they can't explain and are presented to them in a convincing-enough way. There seems to be no way of teaching people healthy skepticism. Lately the United States Army and the Pentagon have released video footage and statements about purported "UFOs" that they claim defy all explanations and laws of physics and that they, allegedly, don't know what they are. Alleged fighter jet pilots of the US Air Force have gone to television stating that they see them almost daily, and that they have no idea what they are. And the vast, vast majority of the public are just swallowing the story whole, with exactly zero skepticism or scrutiny. What's most worrying, even some scientists and scientifically minded people ...

Inconvenient perpetrators of hate crimes, addendum 2

In previous blog posts I have commented about hate crimes (actual hate crimes) being committed against people, but the mainstream media and the far-left activists being completely silent about it or, in the most egregious cases, walking on eggshells when talking about it, because the perpetrators are inconvenient , and how the left has been lately facing a problem with this due to an increasing amount of anti-Asian violent attacks... again performed by inconvenient perpetrators . It seems that the far left just can't catch a break because once again, due to recent events, they are facing yet another instance of hate crimes being committed against people they should be protecting, but they are staying mostly silent because the perpetrators are inconvenient. More particularly extreme harassment and violence against Jewish people has significantly increased (some estimates say by 250%) during the past weeks, especially in the United States and the UK, with the perpetrators not only ha...

The racism of the left: Big lips and slanted eyes as defects

Many years ago there was a candy in Finland that had a cover image that had a cartoon drawing of two native African people kissing. Some time in the late 90's or early 2000's (before the current craziness) they decided that the image was "racist" because the two characters had thick lips, so they proceeded to make a new similar image where the lips were significantly thinner. Mind you, the lips were not overtly exaggerated to the point of being grossly oversized. In fact, they were relatively realistic-sized for typical African people, even as a cartoon depiction. The drawing was still considered "insensitive" and borderline "racist" because of the thick (although not overly exaggerated) lips, and were replaced with much thinner lips. One has to wonder why. Why is depicting African black people with thick lips considered "insensitive" and "racist"? Where is this notion coming from? It's quite common for many African people t...

Stupid people panic-buying gasoline

For some reason many people in the United States have been recently panic-buying gasoline. Having a reserve of something important isn't in itself a bad thing. The problem with gasoline in particular, however, is that it's a quite dangerous substance to be stored for long periods of time somewhere in your house. Most importantly it needs to be stored in very airtight containers or else it will start to evaporate, which not only will cause you to lose the gasoline, but could in fact be very dangerous if it were to ignite for any reason. However, that's not the reason I'm writing this. The reason is the utter and sheer ignorance and stupidity of some people. These people are allowed to have driving licenses and drive cars around, when they don't have even a grade-schooler's grasp of what kind of substance gasoline is, and how it behaves. Consider, for example, this person hoarding gasoline... in a plastic bag: Can it get stupider than that? Or this person collec...

How do companies get invaded by social justice warriors?

Having followed for like a decade the invasion of the neo-Marxist social justice ideology, and having watched an innumerable amount of critical videos, it's sometimes hard to comprehend that the social justice ideology and its tactics are actually not completely widespread knowledge among the wider population. Many, many people just don't follow politics nor things they consider trivial and unimportant to them, and aren't even interested in them. As hard as it may be to believe, some people have never even heard of "social justice" or its talking points. Many others may have encountered some of it, but just dismissed it as something silly or uninteresting, some random people bickering among themselves, none of their business. It is, in fact, surprisingly common for company owners, CEOs and the people running the company, to have actually never heard of the whole social justice thingie, nor their talking points, or what they are doing and claiming. This especially...

Why do people allow themselves to be indoctrinated in universities?

I have commented many times in this blog about how most universities, especially in the United States, the United Kingdom and in an ever-increasing amount of western countries, have become social justice indoctrination and activism training camps, pumping out thousands and thousands of brainwashed drones into society (who then go to infest and infect every company and institution). But one could ask how this is possible. Why do all these students allow themselves to be indoctrinated like this? Why do the go along with it? Can't they think for themselves and be critical of it? It's easy to ask this as an older person with a lot more life experience and having encountered and researched copious amounts (in fact too much) of social justice ideology and its criticism. It's easy to get detached from the average young person and think that everybody thinks like oneself and is aware of the same things. However, you have to take into account that these students are still young and ...

How social justice "wokeism" destroyed the atheist skepticism movement

During the 1990's and especially the early 2000's there was a kind of "mini-age of enlightenment" period going on, with many very famous an popular secular skeptic philosophers and scientist influencers making a quite great impact on western society as a whole by bringing up to the public consciousness a more rational logical evidence-based thinking that exposed the fallacies of religion and pseudoscience. This is what has been called the "New Atheism" movement. Philosophical and scientific rational skeptic heavy-hitters like the great Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Daniel Dennett ("the four hosemen" of skepticism") and many others were getting the spotlight on televised debates, discussions, interviews and so on. Their goal was to bring rationality, logical thinking and scientific skepticism to the wider public, to raise awareness of the fallacies of pseudoscience and religion, and why not only do they logically fail but a...

"Black Hammer City" is absolutely hilarious

If there's one thing that the extreme leftist radicals love, it's LARPing. And not in the sense of deliberately and consciously group-acting for fun and as a game, but seriously pretending that it's all real and realistic, and that they are actually doing something and achieving something that they actually are not. They love to pretend, and convince themselves that it's not just pretending but real, and that it actually works. There are many, many examples of this, but perhaps one of the most hilarious recent examples of this is a group of black activists who call themselves "Black Hammer Org", and who have this plan to build a "Black Hammer City". (If you google it, you'll get all the details.) What are their goals? From their official site: There are so many things to comment about this. For starters, notice that first point. Do you see something conspicuously missing in that list between parentheses? The one thing that's usually included ...

Some "trans" people are just attention seekers

If you have followed the speedrunning scene in any way, you might know who I'm talking about, but either way I'm not going to name any names. It's not important. Many years ago there was a speedrunner who was specialized in speedrunning a particular popular game, and who was really beloved by the community. He held the world record for that game for a time, he was a regular participant in the Games Done Quick charity events and other similar streams, and overall he was really liked by both speedrunners and the audience alike. He was a regular Twitch.tv streamer, and his number of followers and subscribers was in the tens of thousands (which, when we are talking about a speedrunning channel, is quite a lot). One of the pinnacles and most famous events of speedrunning this particular game was his last world record of its any% category, which he got some years ago. Fans of this game's speedrunning scene remember this event fondly. Whenever he appeared on any event (such ...
