Video games and the uglification of female characters

As the social justice ideology is invading and infiltrating every single aspect of western society, it is no surprise that more and more big video game developer companies have been either invaded by social justice ideologues, or adopted the ideology on their own.

The effects of this invasion can be seen in many things, but one particular thing that people have noticed is a general and slightly strange trend, especially among the most notorious SJW gaming companies, of "uglification" of fictional female characters in video games.

The character models used in modern realistic video games are generally not created from nothing. Maybe in the near future advances in technology (and perhaps AI) will allow creating entire characters from nothing, but so far essentially the only way to create realistic-looking human models is to 3D-scan real actors and actresses, both for their body shape and their movement.

Quite often the character models in realistic modern video games look a lot like their real-life counterpart. (In fact, some games go even so far as to actually use the exact likeness of famous actors, like Keanu Reeves in Cyberpunk 2077, or pretty much all the major characters in Death Stranding.)

Models and actors tend to be quite fit and attractive (rarely do plain-looking, or even ugly, models and actors get a job, with the exception of certain movie roles). Thus especially female video game characters tend to be quite attractive as well.

What some of these companies are doing, however, is that they are deliberately and purposefully "uglifying" the female characters after scanning them. The excuse of them not wanting to "oversexualize" the character, or make her "unrealistic", doesn't hold much water when the character model is an accurate replica of the real person. Indeed, there are many examples out there were a beautiful actress or model, whose likeness was used in a video game, has been significantly uglified compared to the real person. Deliberately and on purpose.

Curiously, they do this only to female characters. I have so far not found a single example of an uglified male character (unless it's done merely as a form of digital makeup, ie. to create a character that's supposed to be ugly or deformed, for example). On the contrary, there are plenty of examples of the opposite: The character model used in the game may be eg. more muscular, bigger and taller than the real person who it was modeled after. In some cases even facial features may have been "beautified".

The reason for this is rather clear (even though the game companies themselves rarely admit it): It's an attempt at social engineering, and the motivations for doing it are deeply rooted in feminist misandry. Men enjoy beautiful women, and feminists absolutely hate men and do not want them to have anything that they enjoy, so beautiful female characters in video games must be uglified. If this pisses off male gamers all the better! Mission succeeded! This is misandry at its purest.

In past years the excuses for doing this were your more traditional "women shouldn't be sexualized in fiction". However, in recent years the reasons have shifted: Since social justice activism has in the past few years pretty much entirely transformed into trans activism, also the reasons for video game companies to do this have likewise changed to trans activism.

For example, Naughty Dogs, the developers of the upcoming game The Last of Us Part 2, have directly stated that they uglified all the female characters in their game (compared to their real-life counterparts) in order to pander to "trans people". (Not that they asked trans people if they really want that. Social justice activists never ask, they just do.) They have also pretty much directly stated that they are doing this as a form of social engineering (not with those words, of course, but it can be quite directly implied).

This was quite a disappointment for me.

The Last of Us is one of the best games I have ever played, and I was really, really looking forward to the sequel. Naughty Dog is also quite adept at developing visually stunning games. For example Uncharted 4 was really awesome-looking, considering that it was made for the first PS4.

However, now I'm not sure I even want to get the sequel. Do I want to support a game company that's trying to shove social justice ideology down my throat, and has deliberately uglified character models because of this, and most probably has injected their ideology into the game?

My answer will probably be no. I will be skipping the game. After all, according to the leaked script the player is forced to play a trans woman character in the latter half of the game. So fuck them, I'm not buying the game. They might not go broke, but they aren't getting my money.
