Nicolás Maduro had been the "president" of Venezuela for over 20 years, and he has been internationally condemned as a dictator who has engaged in oppression, corruption and numerous human rights violations in the country. Within Venezuela itself he has been widely opposed and protested by the Venezuelan people for decades, but he has forcefully kept a grip on power.
Yesterday (as of writing this), the United States Army, on behest of the Trump administration, attacked the country with precision strikes and succeeded in capturing Maduro within hours (quite an impressive feat and a showcase of the effectiveness of the US military.)
The president's capture by the US military was met with widespread celebration by Venezuelans, particularly within the country but also elsewhere, including very much all the Venezuelans living in the United States.
But, of course, the American left has been pre-programmed and deeply inculcated into Trump Derangement Syndrome, and one of the core key tenets of it is that they can never, ever, ever, ever, in a million years, praise Trump for anything nor consider anything that has done as a good thing. It literally does not matter what Trump does, he must always, always, be opposed.
And of course the American leftists are throwing a hissy-fit about this. Venezuelans themselves are celebrating and praising Trump. American leftists are, unsurprisingly, considering him a monster and his actions a crime against humanity. Obviously.
Ironically, Joe Biden himself, during his presidency, opposed Maduro and called him a dictator. Leftists were ok with that back then. Not that they remember or care now, of course.
It just goes to show that the American left has no principles and no credibility. They will just oppose Trump no matter what, even when he does something to genuinely help people, and even when those helped people celebrate and thank him for it.
Well, I suppose that the American leftist pundits know Venezuela better than the Venezuelans themselves. (This is, in fact, highly ironic because it essentially makes American leftists supremacists. They think that they know better than any other peoples, cultures and countries. They don't care what those other peoples think, they know better. Even if those peoples and countries are praising and thanking Trump, the American leftists know better and know that, actually, what Trump did was a crime against humanity and those people who are celebrating him. It's just pathetic.)
