Biden's presidential pardon is just astonishing

For pretty much the entirety of his role as the President of the United States, Joe Biden repeatedly stated that he would accept and respect whatever sentences the justice system might impose onto his son, Hunter Biden, and how "nobody is above the law".

That was, apparently, the biggest lie ever told by a politician. On December 1 of 2024, less than two months before he is stepping down, he gave blanket pardon, and I quote, "for those offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024, including but not limited to all offenses charged or prosecuted (including any that have resulted in convictions)".

That's right, he gave a full unconditional pardon for all crimes that he has or even may have committed during the past ten years. If they later find out that he, let's say, murdered someone in cold blood, or raped someone, or kidnapped and tortured someone, or whatever it is, he is fully pardoned by presidential decree for anything he may have done during those 10 years. Anything. No matter what crimes might be discovered in the future, that he may have done in the last 10 years, he is automatically pardoned for all of it, no matter what.

That would be absolutely egregious regardless of who the recipient of the pardon would have been. However, it makes it even worse that it's his own son, making this an absolutely astonishing case of nepotism.

Not only is Biden an incredible hypocrite (because he had been keeping repeating for years that he would not pardon his son, that he would accept whatever the courts rule, and that "nobody is above the law"), and not only has he engaged in an incredible act of sheer nepotism, but this blanket pardon is so egregious that I have hard time believing the federal courts will not strike it down. (If they don't, I think it will once again show how corrupted they are.)

And, on a side note, once again the American left is in a funny position: If Trump had done this exact same thing for his own son, they would be screeching about it for years and years. But because Biden did it... crickets.

If Trump ever pardons anybody during his upcoming presidency, they will screech about it, and just ignore this and pretend it didn't happen or that it's "different" somehow, or that somehow it doesn't matter.
