It is completely and 100% obvious to absolutely everybody that the bullshit charges against Donald Trump (as of writing this article) are purely a form of political persecution, an attempt at stopping Trump from running for president in the next elections, and to punish him for his "crimes" (which nobody seems to be able to articulate, other than him being a "dictator" and a "racist", according to the far left). It is such a clear abuse of the legal system for political persecution that they could just as well say it out loud. Everybody knows it, so they wouldn't be saying anything new.
The left in the United States seems to have made a habit of this. For example many people who entered the Capitol Building on January 6th have been sentenced to long prison terms, often under very suspicious circumstances, while people who have actually and provably committed significantly more egregious crimes are not being prosecuted at all.
Many people on the far left in the United States are, of course, cheering all this. They quite literally do not care whether Trump has actually committed an actual crime according to the law. They literally do not care if he's thrown in prison under false charges by a corrupt judiciary system. I'm sure that if you were to directly ask, most of them would outright directly admit out loud that they would not care and, on the contrary, they would celebrate if Trump were incarcerated using completely false made-up charges by a corrupt judge who ignores the law. Many tweets made by big-name leftists after Trump was charged pretty much directly admit this outright. It's quite clear from these tweets that the people who wrote them have zero idea what the charges or the alleged "crimes" are, and that they literally do not care one iota, and it's quite clear that they would still not care one iota if it turned out the charges are completely made-up and fictitious, as long as they end up in a jail sentence. They just want to see Trump incarcerated, no matter what. They literally couldn't give a flying fuck whether he is actually guilty or not of the particular crime he's being charged with.
As far as I know, what they are doing with Trump is completely unprecedented in the history of the country. Never before has a potential presidential candidate, especially a former president, been politically persecuted by the opposing party in this manner, by abusing the legal system and with made-up bullshit charges. As far as I know, there has never been anything like this before, and this is the first time in the entire history of the country. This is history in the making, and it's absolutely disgraceful and shameful. It speaks of unprecedented corruption at the highest level of the American government.
And the scary thing is that the vast, vast majority of leftists in the United States are supporting, promoting and cheering this corruption and abuse of the legal system. The only thing they care is seeing Trump in prison, they literally do not care how it's done, as long as it's done. I wouldn't actually be surprised if at least some of them would actually outright have a sense of glee if he is incarcerated precisely using made-up false charges, just to rub it in even more.
They seriously do not understand what kind of system they are promoting, advocating for, and supporting.
They live in this illusion where they think that they themselves will be safe from the totalitarian form of government that they are promoting. As long as the corrupt totalitarian unjust anti-constitutional regime is targeted at their "enemies" (ie. the republicans), they are completely fine with it and they think they themselves are safe from it.
They seem unable to understand that a fair, equal incorruptible constitutional justice system, where "justice is blind" and "innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt", is also for their own benefit.
Remove those principles, make the justice system totalitarian, corrupt and biased, and they are putting even themselves in danger. They are creating a system where nobody is safe, not even they themselves.
In a working fair constitutional justice system people will have hard time retaliating against you by abusing the system, precisely because of the fairness guarantees inherent in the system.
In a totalitarian fascistic corrupt justice system nobody is safe. This has been seen over and over during the history of humanity and its numerous totalitarian regimes. Piss off the wrong people, express the wrong opinion, or merely have the wrong people just not like you for one reason or another, and they will find the "crime" to pin on you and have the legal system punish you. "Show me the man, and I'll show you the crime." This has happened over and over during the entire history of humanity, when there are no safeguards against it in the judiciary and governmental system.
But this is precisely what they are advocating for, and they just can't understand it. Many people advocated for Joseph Stalin, and ended up eventually disappearing in the gulags, or even worse. Many people advocated for Mao Zedong, and at some point became personae non gratae and were punished, disappeared or even worse. It has happened again and again.
When you advocate for a corrupt totalitarian system of government, you will not be safe from that very government. The tiniest of mistakes, no matter how small, and sometimes even no mistake at all, and you will be on the receiving end of the corrupt system.
